Foraging with a Gàidheal in the Goil
An introduction to foraging and Gaelic place names in and around Lochgoilhead and Carrick. Eileen MacDonald will be introducing us to the delights of Wild Foraging.
Foraging around Lochgoil offers a unique and enriching way to connect with nature. Nestled within the stunning landscape is a treasure trove of wild edibles. From the ancient forests and sea loch shoreline, this area is abundant with a variety of plants, berries, and fungi.
Embark on your foraging adventure, and discover the joys of identifying and harvesting wild foods. Common finds include wild garlic, mushrooms, and a variety of berries such as blueberries, brambles and rowan. Each season brings its own bounty, making foraging a year-round activity.
Along the way Eileen will introduce us to the Gaelic origins of place names and landscape features. Tha mi an dòchas gur faicinn ann (I hope to see you there). Thig còmhla rium agus ionnsaich tuilleadh mun ghleann bhrèagha seo. (Come along with me and learn more about this beautiful glen).
